Nutrien is a Canadian fertilizer company that is the largest producer of potash and the third largest producer of nitrogen fertilizer worldwide. It has over 2,000 retail locations across North America, South America, and Australia, with more than 23,500 employees. Nutrien was formed through the merger of PotashCorp and Agrium in 2018, aiming to increase prices in the context of low fertilizer prices and reduce costs through consolidation. The company has a market capitalization of $34 billion and is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange. Nutrien has made strategic acquisitions, such as selling a stake in SQM to Tianqi Lithium and acquiring RuralCo in Australia, expanding its presence in Latin America by acquiring Casa do Adubo in Brazil.
