Krispi Kraut is a family-operated sauerkraut plant located on Highway 3 outside Lunenburg. Established in 1976, the Rhodenizer family continues the regional tradition of crafting sauerkraut using a natural and mild recipe passed down through generations. With a focus on health benefits and local sourcing, Krispi Kraut's production process involves fermenting cabbage in fiberglass tanks for three weeks to produce high-quality, probiotic-rich sauerkraut. The plant, owned by Paul Rhodenizer, now grows and processes approximately 100,000 cabbages annually, distributing their products to various local stores and markets.
