Cartier Wind Energy is a Longueuil-based company formed in 2004 as a partnership between TransCanada Corporation and Innergex Renewable Energy. They have constructed five wind farms in the Gaspé Peninsula with a combined capacity of 589.5 MW, delivering power to Hydro-Québec under a 20-year contract. Their sixth project in Les Méchins, Quebec, was cancelled in 2010. They are focused on renewable energy development in Quebec.
