Acden Manufacturing is the sole producer of Kevlar® industrial knitwear in Western Canada. Their products, twenty times stronger than steel, are fire retardant and slash and puncture resistant. Acden Manufacturing, previously known as Chip Manufacturing, was established through a collaboration between Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and Suncor Energy Inc. The company, based in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, provides economic opportunities for the local community and is renowned for its high-quality protective gear.
